The Cycling and Society symposium series was launched in 2004 at Lancaster University. The symposia are linked to the Cycling and Society Research Group whose members span many disciplines and approaches to the study of cycling. The book ‘Cycling and Society‘ was published in 2007, reuniting some of the research presented during the first editions. Since 2004 there have been annual Cycling and Society symposia around the UK.
The next Symposium will take place in Dublin (Ireland) on 7th-8th September 2023, locally organised by the Department of Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering at Trinity College Dublin and supported by our Committee.
Our 2022 symposium was hosted by the School of Geography and Planning, Cardiff University, Wales (UK) on 15th-16th September 2022.
